DragonSword Awakening Update 1.0.4: Player-Facing Changes

Updated 2026-08-02

Quick answer

DragonSword: Awakening update 1.0.4 is a large corrective patch rather than a new story release. The most important player-facing changes are:

  • Roxy's third-Awakening aerial re-jump cooldown was reduced from 3 seconds to 1.5 seconds;
  • Dana and Eileen received fixes to named combat interactions;
  • nine World Bosses now award fixed Mercenary Corps EXP plus tiered items;
  • Sudden Missions now reward Fragment of Sacred Light ร—60;
  • several Adventure, Area, Hero and Bond Quest blockers were fixed;
  • controller, language, camera, sensitivity, treasure-chest and invite-code issues were corrected.

This page helps you decide whether a symptom or reward changed in 1.0.4. It does not invent new drop rates, boss routes or best builds beyond the official notes.

Combat and movement changes

Character or systemOfficial 1.0.4 changeWhat to recheck in your game
DanaSummon Chako's rage should no longer be consumed when Dana uses Chako Spin.Repeat the interaction on the current patch before relying on older rotation advice.
DanaThe tooltip for the jump-attack skill Freezy Pop was corrected.Read the live tooltip rather than an older screenshot or transcript.
RoxyConsecutive Air Stomps in place were fixed for the third Awakening.Retest aerial timing if the old build prevented the sequence.
RoxyAerial Re-jump cooldown at third Awakening changed from 3s to 1.5s.Treat older movement timing as outdated.
EileenBarraging Spear should now lift enemies correctly when applying Airborne.Ordinary-enemy behavior does not prove every boss can be lifted.
Abyssal DirewolfFall damage after re-mounting or boost-jumping following a dismount was fixed.Update before diagnosing the old fall-damage behavior.

The patch note establishes that these defects were addressed. It does not provide a complete balance ranking for Dana, Roxy or Eileen, and it does not establish numerical damage changes.

Reward and progression changes

Update 1.0.4 made two clear economy changes:

  1. the Gold Shop can sell Lowest-Grade Monster Essence, Hide, Bone Fragment, Carapace and Claw;
  2. World Bosses and Sudden Missions now have the listed reward values in the official notes.

For the complete nine-boss table, use the World Boss rewards guide. If an old guide says Sudden Missions grant a different amount, the 1.0.4 note supersedes it with Fragment of Sacred Light ร—60.

The announcement does not state stock limits, refresh timing, regional pricing or random drop rates for the Gold Shop materials. Check the live shop for those details.

Quest blockers fixed in 1.0.4

The patch addressed named problems across Adventure Quests, Area Quests, Dana's Hero Quest and a Familiar Bond Quest. The fixes include black screens, missing NPCs, frozen movement, sequence-breaking kills and puzzle access attempted before a prerequisite quest.

Use the 1.0.4 quest progression fix guide for the exact list and a symptom-first checklist. The later Talk to Ornette blocker in Adventure Quests 15โ€“18 belongs to the separate Ornette quest fix page, because that fix arrived in update 1.0.5.

System, controller and display fixes

The official note also says 1.0.4 fixed:

  • Hero Codex skill-description scrolling;
  • an incorrect Castella voice line in the active-character Codex;
  • Depth of Field not applying;
  • controller access to refresh-rate options above 120 Hz;
  • list-position restoration in Hunt and Trait Dungeons;
  • controller operation of Special Challenge difficulty;
  • field text not changing with the selected text language;
  • right-stick vertical camera-speed inconsistency;
  • mouse sensitivity switching after controller use.

These are corrections, not recommended settings. For persistent startup crashes, distinguish the D3D12 -dx11 workaround from the saved graphics-settings reset.

World, graphics and multiplayer fixes

Patch 1.0.4 additionally lists fixes for:

  • Cerese's Ophelia's Oath hair rendering;
  • Charlotte's hood hair;
  • abnormal town buildings;
  • wall clipping in the Shadowed Woods;
  • falling through the ground in some world areas;
  • locked underwater treasure chests;
  • a Tower of Trials reward that looked unclaimed until reconnecting;
  • room lookup failing intermittently when entering multiplayer with an invite code.

A note that an issue was fixed does not guarantee that every visually similar problem has the same cause. If a symptom persists on a newer version, record the route, character, platform input and current game version before reporting it.

What update 1.0.4 does not establish

The official notes do not provide:

  • hidden damage coefficients;
  • World Boss spawn locations or strategy;
  • Gold Shop refresh schedules;
  • random drop percentages;
  • a complete hero tier-list revision;
  • recovery steps for a corrupted save.

Keep those questions in their own evidence-backed guides rather than stretching one patch note beyond its claims.
