DragonSword: Awakening Platforms โ Confirmed Launch and Future Plans
Updated 2026-07-24
Confirmed Launch Platform: Windows PC via Steam
As of launch day, DragonSword: Awakening is available exclusively on Windows PC through Steam. The game is developed and published by Hound13 Inc. , and its Steam page lists a release date of July 22, 2026 (exact unlock timing varies by region). No other storefronts or platforms have been confirmed for the initial release.
The Steam page also confirms single-player and online co-op support, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and controller compatibility (Xbox and PlayStation controllers). The game is not currently available on Steam Deck, with compatibility listed as "Unknown."
"Unknown" is Valve's official compatibility state, not proof that the game cannot run. A dated third-party released-build test is summarized separately in the Steam Deck performance and settings guide.
Console Plans โ No Confirmed Platform or Date
In a post-launch roadmap Q&A published on Steam, the developer stated:
"Yes, we plan to prepare console versions after the Steam launch. However, which platform comes first has not yet been decided."
This means Hound13 intends to bring the game to consoles, but no specific console (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, etc.) has been announced, nor has a release window been provided. The statement comes from Stream #4 Recap (source 3), which also notes that no collaborations or microtransactions (beyond DLC) are planned at this time.
What Remains Unannounced
- Mobile platforms โ Not mentioned in any official communication. The game's pivot from a gacha mobile design to a premium PC package (as explained in the AMA summary (source 2)) makes a mobile version unlikely, but no official statement rules it in or out.
- Nintendo Switch 2 โ No reference exists in any source.
- Xbox, PlayStation, or other console versions โ While "console versions" are planned, no specific brand or model has been confirmed.
- Steam Deck verification โ Currently marked "Unknown" on the store page, with no further clarification.
How to Stay Updated
The official source for platform announcements is the DragonSword: Awakening Steam page. Hound13 also posts updates in the Steam Community hub, including roadmap livestream recaps and AMA summaries. As of the July 24, 2026 launch, no new platform information has appeared beyond the sources cited here.
