DragonSword Awakening Walkthrough: Chapters 1–8 Story Route

#Quick route answer

The released DragonSword Awakening main story has eight chapters in the route documented here. Most frustrating stops are not hidden level requirements. They are physical blockers, a second interaction, a scripted teleport, or an objective that relocates after the original plan fails.

#Before starting the walkthrough

Keep one three-hero team functional. You do not need to fully build the roster before advancing, but you should stop and upgrade when normal enemies survive several complete rotations, one standard boss hit removes most of the controlled hero's health, or your lineup cannot create the conditions needed for its Signal Skills.

A practical preparation order is:

1. finish the current story introduction;
2. activate nearby Waypoints;
3. maintain Gear and Karma on all three active heroes;
4. take visible chests and short route-adjacent detours;
5. postpone movement-gated underwater, cliff or key-locked objects;
6. return to the story while the active route is still fresh.

#Chapter 1: Orbis, Guild requests and the Goblin cave

Reach Orbis, take the early Guild requests and follow the shared outward route through Elli's sheep and the Goblin camp. The sealed treasure cave opens when the explosive barrels beside the blocking rock are detonated. Use the Chapter 1 Goblin cave and Elli sheep guide for the full request order and failure checks.

Completion signal: finish the cave encounter and return toward Orbis.

#Chapter 2: recover the large gear and activate the ancient device

Follow the Goblins to recover the large gear-shaped component and install it at the ancient device. Do not leave after the first interaction: remain at the machine and use the additional control. Completion signal: the device starts moving and the objective advances.

#Chapter 3: Dragon Cult altar and scripted teleport

The apparent worship object triggers an intended teleport deeper into the Dragon Cult ruin. Stay inside, follow the continuing interior route and clear the groups blocking progress. Completion signal: the party escapes the altar and completes the funeral and letter sequence.

#Chapter 4: Bardok's note and the Barrier Stone

Speak with Karina, visit the hill behind the village and follow Bardok's prepared Barrier Stone route. The required preparation is already in place; do not farm an unnamed ingredient. Use the Chapter 4 Bardok note and Barrier Stone guide for the marker, interaction and reporting checks.

Completion signal: the restoration is reported and the story assigns the northern investigation.

#Chapter 5: fog road, Rock Tribe and Reina rescue

Follow the northern investigation until the fog road ends, then climb beside the obstruction and use the upper route. Chapter 5 continues through the Rock Tribe position, Reina's rescue and the fortress defense. Completion signal: Reina returns and the fortress defense reaches its aftermath.

#Chapter 6: Ropi and the mural door

Deliver Ewald's letter to Ropi's old cabin. Clear the monsters around the building, enter, place the letter in the visible location and inspect the cabin until the scene continues. Ropi appears as part of the sequence; you do not need to wait for a separate pickup animation.

Follow the meeting and conversation markers. Ropi's offer to Lute is scripted, and Lute remains with the current group. There is no alternate route exit to choose.

The later ruin uses an earlier mural as a visual key. Inspect the first mural, remember or capture its arrangement, then reproduce that arrangement at the later mechanism to open the inner door. The text source does not preserve a trustworthy symbol-by-symbol order, so use the dedicated Chapter 6 mural door guide for the safe procedure rather than a fabricated sequence.

Completion signal: the mural door opens and the True Dragon response begins.

#Chapter 7: intelligence gathering and final-operation briefing

The kingdom-backed request gathers intelligence from the royal faction, the Organa Order, the Amber merchants and Alboin. The route establishes that the True Dragon is difficult to track continuously, the cult has internal factions, and the ancient records point toward Eona's Legacy.

If you cannot find Alboin during the city search, watch the meeting objective. When the palace briefing begins, stop searching and go there. Alboin appears as the expert presenting the ancient research.

The briefing assigns the operation roles: secure the perimeter, prepare a restraint and barrier, locate a Dragon nest, use an egg as bait, handle the adult Dragon and prepare Eona's Legacy as the finishing weapon. Complete the marked preparation tasks before wandering into the nest search.

Completion signal: the operation roles and lightning countermeasure are confirmed.

#Chapter 8: Dragon Egg, Worm pursuit and Ursula

Search the designated hills for a nest. If the first route contains broken eggs, follow the unusually large Worm tunnel toward the intact nest. Wait for Kalien to draw the adult Dragon away, then enter and take the egg.

A Worm steals the egg during the return. Chase it through the large tunnel and clear only the groups blocking the pursuit. When the active objective moves back to the surface or operation area, leave the nest. The failed bait plan is scripted; do not search every chamber for another egg.

The operation continues with the adult Dragon, restraint, barrier and sleep effect. Ursula arrives and transforms into the Lv.70 final boss. The fight moves between locations. Follow the new marker after each retreat, use the signal sequence after the second escape and continue until the allied operation allows Eona's Legacy to fire.

Completion signal: Eona's Legacy fires, followed by the battlefield aftermath, return to Orbis and royal ceremony.

#Common story blockers

#The Chapter 1 cave has no entrance

Shoot the barrels beside the rock, then use the focused Chapter 1 route if the camp or cave state does not advance.

#The ancient device still does nothing

Use the additional control after installing the recovered gear. The focused Chapter 2 guide separates the quest component from equipment Gear.

#The Chapter 3 object disappeared

It triggered the intended teleport. Continue deeper with the Chapter 3 altar route.

#I cannot find a Barrier Stone ingredient

Do not invent one. Follow the Chapter 4 Bardok and Barrier Stone route.

#The northern fog road is blocked

Climb the adjacent cliff; the Chapter 5 route guide continues through the Rock Tribe and fortress objectives.

#I cannot find the Lich during Reina's rescue

The documented route does not require a separate Lich hunt. Follow the Reina rescue and fortress sequence.

#The Chapter 6 door has no switch

Copy the earlier mural's arrangement.

#Alboin is missing before the briefing

Attend the palace meeting when it starts.

#The Dragon Egg is gone

Follow the Worm, then return when the objective relocates.

#Ursula left the arena

Follow the new objective. The fight continues elsewhere.
